Taxonomic note:

Transferred to Stigmella by M. Scoble (1978b: 95). None of the paralectotypes belong to S. irrorata; the ♂ is Etainia nigricapitella (Janse, 1948) as is 1♀. The other ♀♀ probably belong to Ectoedemia vannifera (Meyrick, 1914) (Scoble 1978b: 95, 1983: 18).
