The lectotype is also a paralectotype of Macroglossa proxima Butler, 1875; 1 syntype is the lectotype of M. proxima; 2 syntypes are misidentifications of Macroglossum prometheus Boisduval, 1875; 2 syntypes are missing (see I. Kitching & J.-M. Cadiou 2000: 132).
