Had been synonymized with Stauropus interpellatrix Wallengren, 1860 by S. G. Kiriakoff (1958d: 44); considered as a subspecies by S. G. Kiriakoff (1964c: 169), A. Schintlmeister (2013: 102) and by A. Schintlmeister & T. Witt (2015: 47–48).
