Taxonomic note:

A junior subjective synonym of Botys hirtusalis Walker, 1859; synonymized by Viette (1958f: 144). Ghesquière (1942a: 135) erroneously used 'allotype' and 'paratype' for two specimens in the RMCA, which do not belong to the syntypes (see K. V. N. Maes 1996b: 1410).
