Taxonomic note:

One paratype has been identified as Tinea tragoptila Meyrick by Van Gil; another as Tinea protaxia Meyrick by J. Bradley. It has been misidentified as Tinea ademasta Meyrick (partim) and Tinea tragoptila Meyrick (partim) by J. Ghesquière (1940a: nos 22, 32).
