Taxon remarks:Type species: Gracilaria formosa Stainton, 1862. Transactions of the Royla entomological Society of London (3) 1: 291; pl. 10, fig. 1. By original designation. The type species was established in combination with the generic name Gracilaria, at that time an incorrect subsequent spelling of Gracillaria Haworth, 1828 (Nye & Fletcher 1991: 180).
