The second syntype, a female, is not conspecific and was described as Mesophleps nairobiensis Li & Sattler, 2012.

All records from Australasia: Australia; Neotropical: Brazil, Trinidad; Oriental: S. China, India, Sri Lanka and of the Seychelles (Meyrick 1911d: 274) are incorrect (see H. Li & K. Sattler 2012: 24).
