Taxonomic note:

Had been raised to species status by M. Fibiger & A. Legrain (2009), but reinstated as a subspecies of Bryophilopsis tarachoides Mabille, 1900 by H. Hacker & A. Saldaitis (2011: 74); considered at subspecific status by H. Hacker (2016b: 160).
