Distribution note:

Buckle (1908: 10) also mentioned Chilo locupletella Kollar, 1844 from South Africa, Gauteng; probably a misidentification. The record of Mali (A. N. Poltavsky et al. 2018b: 42) needs confirmation (see G. Bassi 2024: 245).
