The records of Ghana, Equatorial Guinea (Bioko) and Nigeria (Fletcher D. S. 1961: 248) as Nodaria verticalis Fletcher D. S., 1961 probably belong to Nodaria fletcheralis Hacker, 2021 (see H. Hacker 2021: 322).
