Palaearctic: Egypt.
The larva bores in the horns of dead buffaloes and antelopes and feeds on the hornmass (Sjöstedt in Meyrick 1924c: 4). See also Haliday (1856: 23), Busck (1941: 1) and Walsingham (1881: 238).
