Taxonomic note:

Had been synonymized with Cacoecia occidentalis Walsingham, 1891 by E. Meyrick (1909a: 368) and J. Brown (2005: 128). Transferred to Choristoneura and regarded as distinct species by J. Razowski (2008b: 247) and by J. Razowski & P. Trematerra (2008: 33).
