Taxonomic note:

It has been suggested by M. Honey in 1987 (NHMUK LepIndex) that Neuranethes avitta might be a junior subjective synonym of Neuranethes angola Bethune-Baker, 1911, but their genitalia are quite different. It appears that avitta is more Central African and angola more southern (L. Aarvik i.l. 2024-07-26).
