Taxonomic note:

Had been synonymized with Phryganopsis tryphosa Kiriakoff, 1958 by L. Kühne (2005a: 489) (see M. Krüger 2015b: 28). Transferred to Acanthosia and regarded as a subspecies of Acanthosia tryphosa (Kiriakoff, 1958) by A. V. Volynkin (2025: 8).
